2023 Humboldt Folklife Festival is Coming Up
Arcata, CA– Humboldt Folklife Society invites the public to the Humboldt Folklife Festival,
scheduled for July 23-29 at Dell’Arte in Blue Lake. The Folklife Festival is a showcase for the
many talented local musicians who live here in Humboldt County.
This year’s festival comprises six different events over the last week of July.
Sunday July 23 is a new event, the Folk School Day, a full day of free music workshops to
encourage more people to make playing music a regular part of their lives. There will be classes
on bluegrass guitar, banjo, songwriting and more!
Tuesday July 25 is the Songwriter Showcase, featuring Matthew Wallace, Bruce Taylor, Zera
Starchild, and Claire Bent. Showtime is 7:30pm in the Carlo Theater at Dell’Arte in Blue Lake.
Wednesday July 26 is Under the Stars, featuring Ponies of Harmony, Sequoia Rose, and festival
favorites Huckleberry Flint. This show starts at 6pm and is outside in the Amphitheatre at
Dell’Arte in Blue Lake.
Thursday July 27 is Bluegrass and Beyond with Rise & Bloom, Fickle Hill, and Horse Mountain.
This show also starts at 6pm and is outside in the Amphitheatre at Dell’Arte.

Friday July 28 is the traditional Barn Dance at the Arcata Vet’s Hall from 7p-10p, with host band
Cidermill and caller Lyndsey Battle. Tickets are $10 general/$5 members, students, seniors and
will be available at the door. No partner or experience is needed.
Saturday July 29 is the All Day Free Festival (by donation) back at Dell’Arte in Blue Lake,
featuring Country Pretenders, Canary and the Vamp, Compost Mountain Boys, Cadillac Ranch,
The Oyster Baes, Sari Baker, Grupo Mar Pacifico, Oh Mercy, A Drop of the Pure, Humboldt Taiko,
Eric Leong, Soul A Mente. Kray van Kirk, Julio Perdido, Blueberry Hill Boogie Band, Vanishing
Pints and the Beatles Singalong. Come on out and enjoy two stages of music - admission is free.
