Qualifications

  • Commitment to the Company Core Values.
  • Experience working with children in an athletic, recreational, or developmental setting.
  • Prior background in gymnastics, movement arts, or adaptive sports as a participant or an instructor is a plus.
  • Proven ability to serve as a patient, positive, and encouraging role model for youth.
  • Ability to engage with all spectrum bodied beings, including non-verbal children.
  • Ability to establish rapport with participants and their parents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking students and guardians.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in group instruction settings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to move, spot, and assist young participants safely across equipment; demonstrate basic movement skills; and lift/position athletic equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Customer Service oriented.
  • Ability to answer phone with proper greeting and tone.

Reports to: Gymnastics Program Director

Position Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time (Schedule must include evenings and some weekends)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead safe, fun, and engaging basic movement and gymnastics classes tailored for children with special needs and diverse abilities.
  • Guide participants through foundational movement activities, including balance beam walking, bar swinging, trampoline jumping, climbing, rolling, and structured stretching/strengthening exercises.
  • Facilitate games and structured routines that improve hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and the ability to follow directional cues.
  • Adapt coaching techniques to accommodate all body types and communication needs, including working effectively with non-verbal children.
  • Interact professionally with Spanish-speaking participants and their parents/guardians to ensure clear direction, safety, and an inclusive environment. 
  • Work in tandem or in group settings with co-instructors, leadership, and support staff to maintain class structure and safety standards. 
  • Keep all equipment neat, sanitized, and properly stored after use. Report any facility, equipment, or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties to complete weekly and monthly.
  • Perform additional assignments as delegated by your immediate supervisor.
