Fortuna Concert Series

Featuring four of the area’s most celebrated jazz players, RLAD delivers a signature style honed through decades of global performances. Their combined experience includes stages across Europe, Africa, South America, and Hawaii, as well as countless local venues, festivals, and concert series throughout Humboldt County. From their role as the house band at Larrupin Café to their long-standing performances at venues like the Morris Graves Museum and Arcata Playhouse, RLAD has become a cornerstone of the local jazz scene.
About the Ensemble
- Tim Randles (keyboard): A skilled composer and performer whose soulful touch on the piano brings depth and emotion to every performance.
- Ken Lawrence (bass): A world-renowned luthier and accomplished bassist, whose handcrafted instruments are played by top musicians worldwide, including Victor Wooten.
- Mike LaBolle (drums): A powerhouse percussionist who has spent over eight years as part of the Dell’Arte house band, known for his dynamic and rhythmic finesse.
- Doug Marcum (guitar): A phenomenal Los Angeles studio guitarist who has recently brought his extraordinary talent to Humboldt County, adding a fresh dimension to the group’s sound.

Special Guest: Matthew McClimon
Joining RLAD is acclaimed vibraphonist Matthew McClimon, whose distinguished career includes performing with renowned jazz artists and directing concert and jazz bands at local schools. McClimon is a graduate of Humboldt State University, the University of Louisville, and the University of New Orleans, and he regularly performs with groups such as the Opera Alley Cats and Timbatá. A recipient of the Colonel Finley R. Hamilton Outstanding Military Musician Award, McClimon brings a refined sound and an expansive knowledge of jazz to every performance.

Individual ticket prices are $15 General Admission.
