Introducing "Slide," a band named after the historical roots of Fortuna. They'll be performing a wide range of music from the 1950s to the 1990s, including their own original compositions.

Let's meet the amazing members of Slide:

Gloria Gold: Vocals and Tenor Guitar

Originally from Canada and raised in Oregon, Gloria discovered her passion for singing in school and has been a professional musician since the age of nineteen. Her soulful voice will leave you mesmerized. In addition to her music career, Gloria has also taught English and History. Currently, she shares her expertise by teaching ukulele and voice.

Michael Gibbs: Vocals and Piano

With a lifelong dedication to singing, Michael has been a beloved local performer for many years. He has produced and recorded multiple albums, showcasing his powerful voice. Equally proficient on the piano and guitar, he frequently graces community events with his remarkable talent.

Jay Byker: Vocals and Guitar

Hailing from Minnesota but raised in Humboldt County, Jay returned to his roots after a twenty-five-year absence to teach at Fortuna High. Apart from his part-time role as a music teacher at Pacific View Charter School, Jay is the proud owner of Redwood Music Mart. Having spent a significant portion of his life as a professional musician, Jay's expertise lies primarily in guitar and bass.
