College of the Redwoods is launching a specialized workshop series designed for women interested in carpentry and DIY home improvement projects.

The first weekend workshop "Tools of the Trades," will introduce participants to a range of basic hand and power tools commonly employed in home improvement projects.

The two-day course is designed for women with little to no prior experience and will include measuring and marking, understanding basic hand tools, identifying and utilizing fasteners, and operating essential power tools.
