Our Guest Speaker will be Nezzie Wade from Affordable Homeless Housing Alternatives.

AHHA (Affordable Homeless Housing Alternatives) provides information, education, advocacy and policy development for affordable housing with the homeless in Humboldt County. They facilitate the implementation of these alternative models and assist in operations by networking with private and non-profit groups, public agencies, faith-based organizations and individuals. AHHA’s Shower Care-A-Van helps meet the houseless community members where they are by bringing resources and services to them with no questions asked. The Shower Care-A-Van is run by 8-10 dedicated volunteers and one Driver/Operator. The showers operate 2 days a week, serving the general areas of Eureka and Arcata with plans to expand throughout Humboldt as communities can support their expansion.
