SUMMARY:Chamber Meeting - Emily Hobelmann
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our next Chamber Zoom Meeting with special guest Emily Hobelmann\, Board President for the Fortuna Business Improvement District (FBID)\, and business consultant to the cannabis industry. The State of California requires licensed cannabis businesses to use a platform called "Metrc" to track cannabis inventory throughout the supply chain. This is our state's "track-and-trace" program\, which can be thought of as how cannabis is explicitly monitored from seed-to-sale on the white market. Join Consultant Emily Hobelmann for a shallow wade into the Metrc interface for cannabis cultivators\, and get a glimpse of how these businesses have to adapt their operations to this program in order to be compliant with state law. This will not be an exhaustive presentation\; it will be a broad-stroke discussion of how the system works\, along with views of the interface and some anecdotes to bring perspective about the realities of this program for some of our local businesses.
